PBT – Polybutylene Terephthalate
PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) is a high-performance engineering thermoplastic polyester known for its excellent combination of mechanical strength, stiffness, dimensional stability, electrical insulation and chemical resistance.
PBT offers good processability and fast crystallization, making it suitable for precision injection-moulded components. It is widely used in automotive, electrical & electronics, white goods, household and industrial applications.
PBT is widely used for technical components where a combination of mechanical performance, dimensional accuracy, electrical properties and processing efficiency is required.
For demanding applications, PBT can also be modified or reinforced with materials such as glass fibre, mineral fillers, impact modifiers, flame-retardant systems and other additives.
PBT provides good mechanical strength for technical components and can be reinforced further where higher structural performance is required.
PBT provides a useful balance of rigidity and toughness, particularly in reinforced grades. PBT is suitable for applications where maintaining component dimensions and tolerances is important.
